JUNETEENTH CELEBRATIONS ARE UNIQUELY ORLANDO
African American history, heritage, and influence come to the fore on Juneteenth. You are invited to join the festivities (Orlando Lake Eola Park pictured) in Orlando in 2023.
On June 19, 1865, the last announcement was made in Galveston, Texas, marking the emancipation of African Americans who suffered slavery. Juneteenth National Independence Day, also known as Juneteenth, marks the final emancipation of African Americans who suffered under slavery. This Juneteenth, celebrate the African American community with vibrant Juneteenth events in Orlando, including cultural expositions, lively parties and more.

JETE TENTH WEEKEND OF 1887 (JUNE 16-18, 2023)
In 1887, Eatonville was the first Black town incorporated in America and celebrated Juneteenth with three days of celebration. Get ready for a night of African dancing, drumming, and entertainment at the Wakandan Fathers Day Gala on June 16, followed by the Central Florida Juneteenth Parade and Festival. In addition to live music and entertainment, there will be global cuisine, a kiddie corner, and a Juneteenth fireworks display. A Juneteenth Freedom Celebration will commemorate African American resilience on June 18.

THE JUNETENTH 407 WEEKEND (JUNE 16-18, 2023)
Experience a curated series of events in downtown Orlando's historic Parramore neighborhood that celebrate the culture and resilience of African Americans. Hosted by Black Friday Orlando, this multi-day celebration will begin with a Black Friday Scavenger Hunt (June 16 17), followed by a Better Together Mixer (June 16); a Juneteenth Block Party featuring food trucks, a kids zone and DJ (June 17); and The Anti Brunch, an all-inclusive Fathers Day brunch at The Monroe in Orlandos Creative Village (June 18).
8TH ANNUAL HANNIBAL SQUARE JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION (JUNE 17, 2023)
As part of the 8th annual Juneteenth Celebration, hosted by the Hannibal Square Heritage Center and Crealde School of Art at the Winter Park Community Center, guests from the Real Rosewood Foundation and the Frost Museum will talk about knowing, remembering, and shifting the narrative. At the Hannibal Square Heritage Center, you can view the traveling exhibition An Elegy to Rosewood and explore the permanent collection of photographs, oral histories, and public art.
CELEBRATION of ORLANDO'S JUNETEENTH (JUNE 17, 2023)
In partnership with the City of Orlando, Clear Lake Park will host its second annual Juneteenth Celebration, offering live music, entertainment, a kids zone, vendors village, and food trucks.

On Juneteenth, Nightshade Lounge in downtown Orlando will host an All Black Party called Black-Ish: Juneteenth All Black Party. For free admission until 11 p.m., wear all black and RSVP online.

A RESOURCE & CULTURAL ARTS FESTIVAL (JUNE 17, 2023)
A Juneteenth Resource & Cultural Arts Festival is being held at Bill Breeze Park in Ocoee, a 20-minute drive southwest of Orlando. Festival participants will include members of the Florida legislature, local community resources, and the WellsBuilt Museum of African American History and Culture in downtown Orlando.

LEARN & LUNCH - 3RD ANNUAL BGTM JUNETEENTH EVENT (JUNE 18, 2023)
A family-friendly Lunch & Learn: A BGTM Juneteenth Event will take place in Loch Haven Cultural Park by the Florida Theater Association, Black Girl Theater Magic, and Orlando Repertory Theater. A delicious barbecue lunch will be served, children's books about Juneteenth will be read, face painting will be available, a DJ bubble party by DJ Jae will be held, as well as other exciting events.
FIELD DAY JUNETEENTH (2023)
The Juneteenth Field Day at Orlando Barnett Park will feature a wide variety of games and activities for all ages, such as tug-of-war, potato sack races, and water balloon tosses. The event will also include food and drinks.
THE FEAST OF JUNETEENTH (JUNE 19, 2023): FACETS OF FREEDOM
A celebration of African American artistry at Facets of Freedom: A Celebration of Juneteenth at the Renaissance Theatre Company. Black Girl Theatre Magic has partnered with No Drama Entertainment, New Generation Theatrical, Central Florida Vocal Arts, EatMe360, Hawkmoon Entertainment, and Creative City Orlando for the celebration in Orlando's Ivanhoe Village District.

THE FYUTCH CONCERT IS HERE FOR THE SUMMER AT YOUR LIBRARY
Fyutch, a Grammy-nominated artist, will host an Eatonville Branch Library concert celebrating Juneteenth with music about community, Black history, and culture. Children up to the age of 12 should enjoy the mix of hip hop, soul, R&B, and pop.
