ZOO CENTRAL FLORIDA THINGS TO DO IN WILD ORLANDO
The Orlando area is home to a zoo, did you know? In Sanford, just 35 minutes north of the main tourist districts, is the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens. Over 350 animals are on display here, making this local gem a fun place for all ages to visit.
FEED A GIRAFFE
There is an additional fee associated with this experience, but I assure you it is well worth it. Visitors can feed up-close and personal with a giraffe for $5. There is a chance that the timing of this service will change based on the weather, but generally it is offered between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
CHECK OUT THE GARDENS
Additionally, the Orlando Central Florida Zoo also has botanical gardens on 23 acres. Our family enjoyed the butterfly garden and learned about different kinds of plants as well.
KEEPER CHATS
The time of these events can be found on the board when you enter. Animal Keeper Chats give you an opportunity to get to know an animal better. A zoo employee is always able to give you more details about the procedure, but it is usually done twice a day.
CHILDREN'S ATTRACTIONS AT THE CENTRAL FLORIDA ZOO

A lot of thought and effort goes into making the exhibits at the Central Florida Zoo child-friendly. In addition to being excited about the animals, we all know that these places can provide a wealth of educational opportunities. It's also a great place for plain old fun.
A playground, for instance, is a great place for kids to play while their parents relax on benches. Here's one more thing you'll find, don't you think? A splash pad! Pack the kids' swimsuits for the tropical splash ground, which is open daily.
Besides a butterfly garden in which children can roam, a petting zoo and human-sized chess are also on hand. In the children's garden, kids could just relax and enjoy the sand. Their goal is to create an environment where kids will be reluctant to leave.
What about a fun birthday idea? The Zooper Birthday Party package is the perfect way to celebrate your birthday at the zoo. Throw a party for your favorite animal lover or present a fun and unique birthday theme with it.
A GUIDE TO BEFORE GOING
Follow these tips before visiting the Central Florida Zoo:
There is no outside food or beverage allowed inside the zoo. The Graze Kitchen on site is a good option to grab food from prior to arriving. A ticket purchase in advance is highly recommended. Furthermore, this will expedite entry into the zoo, as well as save you money. In addition, locals can purchase annual passes.
If needed, wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs can be rented on site. On busier days, these may sell out. Several activities have additional fees. Each of the Giraffe Feeding, Barnyard Buddies Petting Zoo, and Seminole Aerial Adventures zipline courses has its own fee.
Visitors and locals alike will enjoy this family-friendly park. If you find yourself in Orlando soon, make sure to visit the Central Florida Zoo & Orlando Botanical Gardens.
